For the past 100 years, Xavier University of Louisiana has encouraged its students, from the moment they arrive on campus, to pursue academic excellence and strive toward their career aspirations. Oftentimes, this pursuit of excellence is acknowledged and rewarded by those who recognize the path that Xavier students are on. This year, two Xavierites, Christian Davis and Sydney Vander, were selected to be the 2024-2025 American Heart Association (AHA) Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Scholars.

Xavier University of Louisiana prides itself on cultivating a learning environment that extends beyond the classroom, fostering both academic and personal growth. The recent experiences of two students, Amber Parks and Hannah Jefferson, exemplify how global exposure can profoundly enrich their education and life perspectives.

When Ronicka Briscoe, (‘06) Ph.D., joined the Greater New Orleans Corp the same year she graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana, she began a 15-year journey that taught her the importance of centering community in every aspect of her leadership. Now, Dr. Briscoe is preparing to travel between her native New Orleans areas and Houston, Texas as part of a book tour and signing promoting her co-authored book and Amazon bestseller, “Brave Women at Work: Lessons in Leadership.”
